How to connect a digital screen

A step-by-step guide to setting up a TV screen for your synagogue, from unboxing to live content.

Connecting a digital screen to your synagogue is a simple process that takes just a few minutes. Beita's display works on any smart TV with an internet connection, and it works especially well with Amazon Fire Stick and Android TV devices. In this guide we'll walk you through it step by step — from unboxing the device to the moment the screen shows your synagogue's schedule.

Before you start, make sure you have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or an ethernet cable), a TV with a free HDMI port, and a Fire Stick or Android TV box. If you don't have a streaming device yet, you can purchase one through us or use any compatible Android device.

  1. 1

Connect the device to the TV

Plug the Fire Stick or Android TV device into a free HDMI port on your TV. Connect the power cable to an outlet and select the matching input (Input) on your TV remote. The device will power on automatically and start its initial setup process.

  2. 2

    Install the Beita app

On Fire Stick, search for "Beita" in the Amazon Appstore and install it. On Android TV, open the Google Play Store and search for the app. Once it's installed, open it — a screen with a unique numeric code will appear.

  3. 3

    Enter your synagogue's code

Sign in to the Beita admin dashboard from your computer or phone, open the Screens Hub, and go to the Pair tab. Click "Add screen" and enter the code shown on the TV screen. Within seconds the screen will connect and start displaying your synagogue's content — prayer times, announcements, and memorials.

Tips for a smooth installation

  • Place the TV somewhere visible to all worshippers — ideally near the entrance or beside the Ark (Aron Kodesh).
  • Make sure the screen is set to power on automatically with the electricity (Auto Power On), so you don't need to turn it on manually every morning.
  • An ethernet cable connection is preferable to Wi-Fi for better stability.
