How to send push notifications

Push notifications are the most direct and effective way to communicate with your community. Whether it's a last-minute change to prayer times, an invitation to a special event, or a reminder about a class — the message lands straight on the phone of every congregant who has the app installed. The open rate for push notifications is significantly higher than SMS or email, which is exactly what makes this tool so powerful.

To send push notifications, make sure your community members have installed the Beita community app and allowed notifications. The more members using the app, the wider the reach of your messages.

1

Open the Dashboard and the Messages screen

Log in to the Beita Dashboard and click Messages in the side menu. You'll see the history of messages already sent, along with a Send new message button at the top of the page. Click it to open the composer.

2

Write the message and choose your audience

Write a short, clear Title (up to 50 characters — it also becomes the push notification title and the email subject) and a more detailed message in Message content. Choose your Audience: Entire community, a specific Group (for example, "Shacharit minyan" or "Daf Yomi class"), or Selected recipients for individual members. You can also use Scheduling to send the message at a specific time — especially useful when you want a reminder to go out shortly before a class or event.

3

Send and track delivery stats

After sending, you can track how many people received the message and how many opened it. This data appears on the Delivery reports page and helps you understand what works best — which kinds of messages get the most engagement, and what times are best to send.
