Accepting digital donations is one of the most important tools for your synagogue's budget. With Beita you can accept credit-card donations, set up monthly standing orders and create dedicated campaigns. Automatic Section 46 receipt generation is coming soon, pending Tax Authority approval — in the meantime, your nonprofit issues receipts manually. In this guide, we'll walk you through setting up the donations system from scratch.

Before you start: you'll need your nonprofit registration (a public benefit company works too) and your bank account details. Setup takes about 10 minutes, and once it's done you can start accepting donations right away.

1

Enable the donations module and connect a payment processor

Open the admin dashboard, go to Settings and click Donations. Click Enable digital donations and follow the prompts to connect a payment processor. Beita supports the leading Israeli payment processors as well as Bit — the transaction runs directly between the donor and the certified processor, so you never store sensitive payment data at any point. If you already have an active payment-processor account, just enter your API keys and connect; if you don't have one yet, we'll help you choose a provider and open an account.

2

Creating a donation campaign

Once your payment processor is connected, you can create different campaigns: a general synagogue fund, a building fund, food for those in need, special holiday campaigns, and more. For each campaign you can set a financial goal, a background image and a description. Every campaign gets a unique link you can share through the app, on WhatsApp or by email.

3

Monthly standing orders

Donors can choose to give a one-time gift or set up a monthly standing order (recurring donation). The standing order renews automatically every month, and the donor receives a receipt for every charge. You can see all active standing orders in the admin dashboard, and cancel or update them easily.

Section 46 receiptsComing soon

Automatic Section 46 receipt generation is in development and will launch once the Tax Authority approves it. You can already connect your nonprofit's iCount or EasyCount account through the integrations page in the admin, so it switches on automatically the moment it launches. In the meantime, receipts are issued manually by the nonprofit and sent to the donor.
