Terms of Use

1. General

Welcome to Beita — the smart management platform for synagogues. Use of the service constitutes full agreement to the terms set out in this document. Please read carefully before registering. These terms of use constitute a binding agreement between you and Beita (hereinafter: "the Company" or "Beita"). The minimum age for using the service is 18. Any use of the service is subject to the laws of the State of Israel.

2. Definitions

"The Service" — the full set of platforms operated by Beita, including the management dashboard, the community app, the display screens, and the SMS and email services. "The Subscriber" — a synagogue organization that registers for the service and pays subscription fees. "User Content" — any text, image, name, date, or other data that the Subscriber uploads to the platform. "The Operator" — Beita, the legal entity operating the service and handling the data.

3. Registration and account

When registering for the service, you undertake to provide true, accurate, and up-to-date details. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and are obligated to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. Each subscriber is permitted only one account; creating duplicate accounts may result in suspension. Beita reserves the right to refuse to register any subscriber at its discretion.

4. Right to use the service

Beita grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for the internal purposes of your synagogue only, and only for the duration of your subscription period. This license does not include permission to copy, duplicate, sell, trade, or exploit the platform for third-party purposes. Upon termination of the subscription, the license automatically expires and you must cease all use of the service.

5. User content

You are the exclusive owner of all content you upload to the platform — including community member names, memorial (yahrzeit) dates, messages, and images. By uploading content, you grant Beita a limited license to store the content and display it within the agreed scope of the service. Beita will not make any commercial use of your content and will not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary permissions to publish any content you upload.

6. Prohibited uses

It is strictly forbidden to use the platform to distribute offensive, illegal, racist, or inciting content. Also prohibited: hacking attempts, injection of malicious code, sending spam, misleading community members, automated data collection (scraping) without authorization, and sharing access credentials with unauthorized parties. Violation of this section may result in the immediate closure of your account without a refund.

7. Payments and pricing

All published prices are in New Israeli Shekels (₪) and do not include VAT, which will be added in accordance with legal requirements. You may choose between a monthly or annual subscription; an annual subscription is offered at a discount. The trial period is 30 days at no cost and does not require a credit card. At the end of the trial period, continued use requires choosing a package and providing payment details. Beita reserves the right to update its prices with 30 days' advance notice.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings, with no cancellation penalty. In accordance with Israel's Consumer Protection Law, 1981, you are entitled to a pro-rated refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, subject to a deduction for actual days of use. Cancelling an annual subscription after the first 14 days will not entitle you to a refund for the remaining period, unless otherwise agreed in writing. After cancellation, your data will be retained for 90 days before final deletion.

9. Intellectual property

All rights in the Beita platform — including its source code, interface design, the "Beita" brand, logos, product names, and system content — are the exclusive property of the Company and are protected under copyright, trademark, and patent law. You have no right to duplicate, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the platform without express written permission. Use of the Beita logo for promotional or PR purposes is permitted only with a link to the official website and subject to our brand guidelines.

10. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranty of absolute availability or uninterrupted operation. Beita will not be liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of revenue, arising from use of the service or from an inability to use it. Beita's total liability to you will not exceed the amount actually paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You undertake to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Beita, its employees, and its officers against any claim, damage, loss, liability, cost, and distress (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your act or omission, from a breach of these terms, from infringement of intellectual property rights, or from misuse of the platform. This indemnification obligation also applies to claims arising from content you uploaded to the service.

12. Changes to these terms

Beita may update these terms from time to time, in accordance with business, legal, or technological needs. We will notify you of material changes by email to your registered address at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes agreement to the updated terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you may cancel your subscription before the changes take effect.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms of use are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising between the parties in connection with these terms will be brought before the competent courts of the Tel Aviv district, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction. Beita may nonetheless pursue legal proceedings in any jurisdiction in which you take an action that breaches these terms.
