General questions

What is Beita?
Beita is a complete management system for synagogues: a public digital display (prayer times, memorials, announcements), a community app, member management, donations with automatic Section 46(a) tax receipts (coming soon), and events — all in one place, fully in Hebrew.
How long does it take to get started?
An average synagogue can go from zero to fully up and running in about 4 hours. Initial setup (prayer times, members, the display screen) takes 1–2 hours. Connecting the donations system is a separate process that takes 2–3 business days, due to nonprofit verification.
Is this suitable for a small synagogue?
Yes. Our Basic package is free and works for synagogues from as few as 20 worshippers. The Premium package (which includes community, donations, and more) starts at ₪99/month. The donations system is optional — you're never required to use it.
Pricing

Pricing

How much does it cost?
We also have a Basic package that's free, forever. The Premium package starts at ₪99/month, and the Enterprise package (for networks and larger organizations) starts at ₪299/month — both prices exclude VAT. The cost is typically recovered within about 30 days through savings in donations and admin time.
What's included in the 30 free days?
Every feature: the full digital display, the app, member management, donations, events, and Ask-the-Rabbi Q&A. No limitations. No credit card required. Cancel with one click. If you cancel within 30 days, you won't be charged anything.
Is there a discount for large nonprofits or networks?
Yes. Networks of 3+ synagogues and umbrella organizations (Agudat Israel, the Chief Rabbinate, education networks) get custom pricing based on scale — contact us and we'll put together a proposal.
What percentage does Beita take on donations?
0% — Beita doesn't take a cut of your donations. You only pay the payment processor's standard fees: from 1.2% for credit cards, from 1.5% for Bit, and from 1.2% for standing orders. The money goes directly into your nonprofit's account.
Technical

Technical

What equipment do I need?
Regular WiFi plus a smart TV (Android TV / Apple TV / Fire TV), or a regular TV plus a ₪150 streaming stick. That's it. No extra computer needed, no dedicated cabling, no outside contractor.
Does Beita work without internet?
The display screen works offline for about 24 hours (local caching). Donations, the app, and content updates need a connection. A short outage won't delete any data.
Is there an app for congregants?
Yes — iOS, Android, and web. Every congregant can download it and see their synagogue's prayer times, memorials, announcements, and the rabbi's classes. It sends smart push notifications.
Does it work on older devices?
Android TV version 9 and up. Apple TV from 2018 onward. Samsung/LG smart TVs from 2019 and later. In practice, most smart TVs from recent years are compatible.

Who issues the Section 46(a) tax receipt?
In this first launch phase, your nonprofit issues the receipt manually from its own iCount or EasyCount account (you can connect that account right now through the integrations tab in the admin panel). Automatic receipt generation through Beita is in development, and will launch once the Tax Authority has approved the mechanism.
What payment methods can donors use?
Credit cards (Visa/Mastercard/Amex/Diners), Bit, bank transfer (for large campaigns), and recurring standing orders. All simple, all in Hebrew.
How long until the money reaches the nonprofit's account?
2 business days from the moment of the donation. Beita never "holds" your money — it goes directly from the payment processor to your nonprofit's account.
Can a donor cancel a standing order?
Yes, with one click from the app or from a Beita email. No need to contact the synagogue or a support line. Beita will let you know.
Privacy

Privacy

Where is the data stored?
Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Daily backups, encryption in transit and at rest.
Who can see the data?
Only the board members you invite. Beita (the company) cannot see congregants' personal data — only anonymized, aggregate data for maintenance purposes. Every agreement includes a signed DPA.
Is my data sold?
No, never. Beita is a SaaS company, not a media company. Our only source of revenue is subscriptions. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't rent out lists.
Migration

Migration

How do we migrate data from our existing system?
It depends on the source: Excel → direct import (20 minutes). Another system → we help you with a CSV export (free). Paper records → we'll type in your first 50 records for you (free).
What happens if we decide to leave Beita?
All your data is available to export at any time (Excel/CSV/PDF). There's no lock-in. If you want to leave, we'll help you get everything out and won't make it complicated.
Do you support different prayer traditions (nusach)?
Yes. Ashkenaz, Sephard, Edot HaMizrach (with sub-traditions: Jerusalem, Morocco, Aleppo, Persia, Yemen, Bavel), and Chabad. You choose at the start, and Beita tailors content, piyutim, and hilulot accordingly.
Support

Support

How do I get help?
A built-in chat inside the system (within 30 minutes during business hours), WhatsApp (we don't have a phone line — leave a message or request a callback and we'll get back to you within one business day), and email (info@beita.co.il). Enterprise-package customers get a dedicated customer success manager.
Is there training?
Yes — a video for every feature, a step-by-step getting-started guide, and a free 25-minute Zoom session with a member of our team during your first setup. There's also a WhatsApp community for gabbaim currently being formed — join as a founding member.
Is there support on Shabbat or Chag?
Beita is a Shabbat- and Chag-observant business. WhatsApp support runs Sunday–Thursday, 9:00–18:00 — replies are usually within 30 minutes; we observe Shabbat and Chag. The system itself keeps running automatically over Shabbat (screens, prayer times, the donation site), and human support resumes after Shabbat/Chag ends.
